US Orders Non-Essential Staff to Leave Pakistan Amid Rising Unrest

Isreal US Iran War Update : Tensions linked to the ongoing Israel–US–Iran conflict have begun to spill over into other parts of the region, prompting fresh security measures and diplomatic activity.

US Advises Non-Essential Personnel to Exit Pakistan

The United States has directed non-essential staff and their family members at its diplomatic missions in Karachi and Lahore to leave Pakistan. The move follows violent protests outside the US Consulate in Karachi.

According to reports, Sunday’s demonstration turned deadly, leaving at least 10 people dead and around 60 injured. Some protesters allegedly attempted to breach the consulate premises. Nationwide clashes between demonstrators and security forces have reportedly pushed the total death toll to 24.

American authorities described the evacuation order as a precautionary step in light of the deteriorating security environment.

Pakistan Claims Role in Easing Iran–Saudi Tensions

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, has claimed that Islamabad played a key role in reducing tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Speaking publicly, Dar stated that Pakistan maintains a defense pact with Saudi Arabia, under which an attack on one country would be considered an attack on both. He noted that following reported Iranian strikes on Saudi territory in response to Israeli and US operations, Pakistan initiated diplomatic outreach to prevent further escalation.

Diplomatic Outreach to Tehran and Riyadh

Dar explained that he contacted Iranian leadership and reminded them of Pakistan’s defense agreement with Saudi Arabia. According to him, Iranian officials responded by expressing concerns that Saudi soil should not be used for actions against Iran.

He then communicated those concerns to Saudi authorities. Saudi officials, he said, assured Pakistan that their territory would not be used for attacks against Iran. Dar added that this exchange appeared to have a stabilizing effect, as subsequent Iranian strikes toward Saudi Arabia and Oman reportedly declined.

A Region on Edge

As the broader Israel–US–Iran confrontation continues, the situation across South Asia and the Gulf remains tense. Diplomatic channels are active, but the risk of further unrest and regional spillover remains high.

Governments across the region are closely monitoring developments, balancing security measures at home with diplomatic efforts abroad to prevent the conflict from widening further.
