Zee Media Corporation Limited faces arbitration in Singapore, claiming $1.553 million in outstanding dues

Zee Media : Legal proceedings have begun in Singapore against Indian media company Zee Media Corporation Limited. The company informed the stock exchanges on February 12, 2026, that arbitration proceedings have been initiated against it.

Hong Kong Company Files Case

The claim has been filed by Hong Kong-based Asia Satellite Telecommunications Company Limited. The case has been filed at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) in Singapore. The complainant company has also requested a fast-track process for an expedited hearing of the dispute.

Dispute Related to Transponder Agreement

The two companies previously entered into a Transponder Capacity Agreement (TCA) under which satellite services were to be provided. The dispute has now arisen regarding payment under this agreement.

Asia Satellite alleges that Zee Media owes approximately US$15.53 lakh (approximately ₹13 crore). This amount includes interest and other fees. Although the relevant agreement has now expired, the payment issue remains pending.

Notice received on February 9

Zee Media received the arbitration notice on February 9, 2026. The company states that it is seeking legal advice on the matter and will present its case vigorously.
