Dholpur, Rajasthan : He inspected the cowshed in Bijauli and took a detailed look at the arrangements there. During the inspection, he thoroughly reviewed the maintenance of the cattle, fodder, water, sanitation, medical facilities, shelter, and record keeping.
District Collector Shrinidhi B.T. visited the cowshed premises and inquired about the quantity and quality of green and dry fodder available for the animals. He directed that the cattle be provided with a regular and balanced diet and that proper arrangements for fodder storage be ensured so that there is no fodder shortage under any circumstances.

He placed special emphasis on the availability of clean and adequate drinking water and instructed for regular cleaning of water tanks. He stated that the Nandi Shala currently houses 125 bulls, with a capacity of 500. He directed the Animal Husbandry Officer to ensure that stray bulls roaming in urban areas are accommodated in the Bijauli Nandi Shala with the cooperation of the Municipal Council.

During the inspection, the Collector reviewed veterinary facilities and directed the concerned officials to ensure regular health checkups, vaccinations, and treatment of cattle in a timely manner. Instructions were also given to ensure separate care for sick or weak animals. He stated that any compromise on animal health would not be acceptable.
The Collector emphasized the need to develop the possibilities of scientific disposal of cow dung, vermicomposting, and organic fertilizer production, so that the cow shelters could move towards self-sufficiency. He also directed the provision of adequate sheds, shaded areas, and ventilation, keeping in mind the summer season.
He emphasized that the proper operation of cow shelters is not only the responsibility of the administration but also of society as a whole. The Collector directed the officials of the concerned departments to periodically monitor the cow shelters’ arrangements and take corrective measures as needed.
