18 people killed in Nepal bus accident, 44 passengers on board

Nepal, Kathmandu: A passenger bus plunged off a highway into a river in Nepal’s Dhading district early Monday. According to Nepali media, 18 people were killed and 25 injured in the accident. The deceased included a male and a female foreign national. However, their nationalities and their names have not yet been released.

According to the Police Force (APF), 17 bodies have been recovered so far. Later, the death of another passenger was confirmed, bringing the death toll to 18. The injured were rescued and admitted to various hospitals. The identities of the deceased and injured have not yet been established. The deceased include 12 men and 6 women. Police said a total of 44 passengers were on board the bus at the time of the accident.

Nepal bus accident

The bus (Ga 1 Kha 1421) was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu when the driver lost control of the bus and plunged into the Trishuli River. The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the Bhainsigauda area of Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-5 in Dhading district. The cause of the accident is currently unclear. Police are investigating the matter.
