Success Story: Mewar’s daughter Harshita Vyas made her mark on social media

Harshita Vyas / Udaipur : The story of Harshita Pushkarna from Madar village, near the lake city of Udaipur, is an inspiration for girls who want to create their own identity. She didn’t excel in her studies, didn’t have an interest in sports, and didn’t have a command of Hindi or English. Harshita’s only passion was her Mewari dialect. This passion later became her strength, and she proved that with passion and hard work, paths are created.

Harshita’s teachers and parents were worried about her career. Relatives and neighbors would rebuke her, asking, “What’s the point of a mobile phone? What will you gain by making videos?”

She learned to make videos in the 11th grade. She even received scolding from her parents, but her passion for video making persisted. Harshita assured her family that their daughter would do something they would be proud of.

Passion Turned into Content Creation:

Gradually, Harshita turned content creation into her passion. She began making comedy and travel videos. Her specialty became her simple, down-to-earth content in the Mewari dialect. People began to appreciate her language, style, and simplicity. Her social media following quickly grew, and she began to gain recognition.

Ordinary Family, Extraordinary Courage:

Harshita’s family comes from a very ordinary family. Her father, Laxmi Lal, works at a medical shop, while her mother runs a food lodge. Harshita also involved her sister in content creation. When they began earning income, they would travel, creating new content with each trip.

Harshita has visited tourist and religious sites across the state, as well as many places outside the state.

Juggling Jobs While Studying:

Harshita has completed her BSTC. She currently works at a private coaching institute while continuing her studies. Harshita says she will also pursue a government job. She believes that hard work and dedication can achieve anything, but self-confidence is essential.

With the income from content creation, Harshita bought her own scooter and replaced her mobile phone. Today, she supports her parents financially.

She says, “There was a time when people would criticize my parents, but now they praise them.” Harshita believes that money is power, and that girls should move forward on their own.
