Mayawati News : The political war of words has once again intensified in Uttar Pradesh. The Samajwadi Party has announced the celebration of “PDA Day” on March 15th, the birth anniversary of Kanshi Ram, the pioneer of the Bahujan movement. The party says this day will be dedicated to the unity of backward, Dalit, and minority communities.
However, following this announcement, the Bahujan Samaj Party has strongly opposed it, calling it a politically motivated move.
Mayawati’s Counterattack
BSP chief Mayawati has issued a statement questioning the SP’s intentions. She says that celebrating “PDA Day” on Kanshi Ram’s birth anniversary is merely a political gimmick.
Mayawati alleged that the SP’s past record has not been consistent with respect for Dalits, Other Backward Classes, and great figures of the Bahujan Samaj. According to her, the SP has periodically resorted to symbolic events to appease the underprivileged, but these communities have not received the protection and respect they deserved while in power.
Mention of the 1993 alliance and the guest house incident
The BSP chief recalled the SP-BSP alliance of 1993 and mentioned the Lucknow State Guest House incident of June 2, 1995. She said that this incident is an important chapter in the state’s politics and the Bahujan Samaj has not forgotten it.
She said that the interests of the weaker sections were neglected during the coalition government, which led to the BSP withdrawing support.
Direct questions to the Samajwadi Party
Mayawati also asked the SP why Kanshi Ram was not given the respect he deserved during his lifetime and why a state mourning was not declared after his death.
She appealed to the Bahujan Samaj to understand the motives behind political statements and symbolic events and to be vigilant.
