Education and Early Struggles:

From domestic cricket to the international stage:
Uma quickly caught the attention of the selectors with her game. In June 2023, she played for India in the 2023 ACC Women’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup. In July 2023, she was selected for the Indian team for the first time for the T20 International series against Bangladesh.
In September 2023, she was part of the Indian team for the Asian Games. Later, after wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia was injured, Uma was included in the squad for the women’s ODI series against Australia and the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup.
She made her ODI debut against Bangladesh in the World Cup. On October 26, 2025, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana presented her with her debut cap. She became the second woman cricketer from Assam to play ODIs for India.
