New Delhi / India : India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has issued a firm warning to Pakistan, cautioning against any misadventure under the cover of ongoing tensions in the Middle East. Speaking at a “Sainik Samman Sammelan” in Kerala, he made it clear that India is closely monitoring the situation and will respond strongly to any provocation.
Reference to Past Military Action
Singh reminded Pakistan of India’s past responses to terrorism, highlighting the impact of Operation Sindoor. He stated that during the operation, Indian forces acted swiftly and decisively, claiming that Pakistan was pushed on the back foot within minutes. The operation was launched after the Pahalgam attack, in which 25 tourists lost their lives.
“Operation Sindoor Is Not Over Yet”
The Defence Minister emphasized that Operation Sindoor is still ongoing, signaling that India remains prepared for further action if needed. Over the course of three days, Indian forces reportedly targeted multiple terror camps and key military locations across the border, causing significant damage.
Warning Against Exploiting Global Conflict
Referring to the instability caused by tensions involving Iran, Singh warned that Pakistan must not attempt to take advantage of the situation. He said any such move would invite an “unprecedented and decisive” response from India.
Pakistan’s Claims and Regional Reactions
The statement comes amid reports in Pakistani media suggesting that India might be planning a false flag operation. However, these claims remain unverified and lack concrete evidence. Meanwhile, Iran has dismissed Pakistan’s suggestions of playing a mediating role in the broader conflict, distancing itself from such claims.
Strategic Concerns in the Region
Experts believe that recent developments, including Pakistan’s sudden military actions involving Afghanistan, could be part of a larger strategic calculation. Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir is thought to be navigating complex regional dynamics, especially in light of shifting alliances and defence ties in the Middle East.
India Reiterates Zero Tolerance Policy
Closing his address, Rajnath Singh reiterated India’s consistent approach toward terrorism. He cited past actions like surgical strikes and airstrikes, underlining that India will continue to respond firmly to any threats to its sovereignty and security.
