New Delhi: In a statement in Parliament, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized India’s focus on energy security, peace, and the safety of its citizens amid turmoil in the Middle East. So far, India has successfully facilitated the return of 67,000 citizens stranded in Gulf countries.
Diplomatic Presence in Iran Remains Strong
The Indian Embassy in Iran continues to operate fully, with sustained communication between Indian and Iranian foreign ministers. Minister Jaishankar noted that an Iranian naval vessel is currently stationed in Kochi, and Iran has formally thanked India for its efforts.
Continuous Engagement with Gulf Nations
India maintains active contact with Gulf countries, prioritizing the security of its citizens and ensuring their safe return.
“India supports ending the conflict and stands for peace. Our immediate focus remains on citizens trapped in war-affected areas,”
