Attack on Shashi Tharoor’s Gunman and Driver in Kerala, One Detained

Kerala : An incident involving an attack on the security staff of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has come to light from Kerala’s Wandoor region. The incident took place on Friday evening around 7:30 PM near the Chelithode bridge area, where traffic congestion had built up due to the narrow road.

What Happened at the Spot

According to police sources, Tharoor was on his way to attend an election-related event when his convoy got stuck in a traffic jam. During this time, five individuals traveling in two vehicles allegedly blocked the convoy.

As per the FIR, when the gunman, identified as Ratheesh KP, asked a vehicle ahead to move and clear the path, the situation quickly escalated. The accused reportedly turned aggressive and attacked both the gunman and the driver.

Police Action and Investigation

Following the complaint filed by the gunman, the police registered a case. Authorities confirmed that one suspect was taken into custody later that night. The remaining accused have been identified, and efforts are underway to arrest them soon.

Probe Underway

Police officials are currently investigating the motive behind the attack. They are examining all possible angles to determine what led to the confrontation and whether it was a spontaneous incident or something more deliberate.
