Uttar Pradesh News -The final voter list for Uttar Pradesh is set to be released on Friday, with officials indicating that nearly 13.35 crore voters are expected to be included. The updated list comes after a detailed revision process that began earlier this year.

Large-Scale Changes Expected

According to sources, around 7 lakh names may be removed from the voter list. Western Uttar Pradesh is likely to see a higher number of deletions compared to other regions.

Earlier Draft and Objection Process

A draft voter list containing 12.55 crore names was published on January 6. Following this, citizens were given time until March 6 to file claims and objections regarding the entries.

During this period:

  • About 86.69 lakh people submitted Form-6 to add their names.
  • Around 3.18 lakh individuals filed Form-7 to request removal of names.

Verification and Notices Issued

Officials identified discrepancies in a significant number of entries:

  • Around 1.04 crore voters received notices due to mismatches in family details (such as parents or grandparents).
  • Nearly 2.22 crore entries were flagged for logical inconsistencies.

After reviewing responses and verification, authorities estimate that about 7 lakh names will be deleted from the final list.

Gender Distribution in Voter List

The earlier draft showed:

  • 6.88 crore male voters
  • 5.67 crore female voters

Among the new applications:

  • 43.06 lakh forms were submitted by men
  • 43.62 lakh forms were submitted by women

Despite similar participation in the update process, the final list is still expected to have more male voters than female voters.

Final Numbers Expected

Taking all additions and deletions into account, the final electoral roll is projected to include approximately 13.35 crore voters across the state.

This updated list will play a crucial role in upcoming elections and reflects the outcome of a large-scale verification and correction drive carried out over the past few months.
