Malda/Jaipur – Principriya Bhowmick, a resident of Malda district in West Bengal, has brought pride not only to Malda but to the entire state of West Bengal by winning the title in the 15-16 age group at the recently held Junior Miss India 2026 grand finale, thanks to her hard work and confidence. This prestigious competition was held in the first week of January 2026 in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan.
A hard-earned achievement:
Principriya Bhowmick said that she prepared for this competition for several months. On August 17, she participated in the auditions held in Kolkata, from where she was selected for the further rounds. Later, in the three-day grand finale held in Jaipur in January, she impressed the judges with her performance and won the Junior Miss India 2026 title.
The competition began on January 6 with a welcome ceremony. Following this, the participants received training from renowned mentors. This training focused on grooming, confidence building, and stage presence.The second day included further training and a professional photoshoot.
In the cultural round held that evening, Principriya beautifully presented the traditional culture of Bengal on stage. For her outstanding performance, she was declared the first runner-up in this round.
Winning hearts in the final round:
January 8 was the final day of the competition, which included two important rounds. In the final round, Principriya Bhowmick gave an excellent performance and won the Junior Miss India 2026 title.

She said that her journey doesn’t end here; in the future, she wants to represent Malda and West Bengal in the senior category. Her dream is to become Miss India and later win the Miss Universe title, bringing glory to India on the international stage.
