Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh –A shocking incident has come to light from the Delhi Gate locality of Ghaziabad, where a journalist was allegedly attacked by a group of over 10 individuals. The victim, identified as Akash Garg, who is associated with Punjab Kesari, was reportedly assaulted with sticks and rods.
Gunshots Reported During Assault
According to initial information, the attackers not only beat the journalist but also fired shots in the air, creating panic in the area. The sudden violence left the victim severely injured, and he reportedly lost consciousness at the scene.
Incident Captured on CCTV
The entire episode was recorded on nearby CCTV cameras. The footage shows a group of men surrounding and repeatedly attacking the journalist with sticks, providing crucial evidence for the investigation.
Delay in Police Response Alleged
Family members and locals have alleged that the police arrived nearly an hour after being informed about the incident. This delay has raised questions regarding the response time of the authorities.
Victim Undergoing Treatment
The injured journalist was rushed to MMG Hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment. His condition is said to be serious but stable.
Police Assure Action
Additional DCP Raj Karan Naiyyar stated that efforts are underway to identify the accused with the help of CCTV footage. He assured that arrests will be made soon and added that any negligence on the part of the police will also be investigated.
