Sports Desk, New Delhi: The Indian women’s cricket team is scheduled to tour South Africa in December 2026 for a multi-format series featuring three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and a one-off Test match. Prior to this, both teams will also face off in a five-match T20 series in April.
First Clash After World Championship Triumph
This upcoming series carries added significance as it will be the first meeting between India and South Africa since India clinched the World Championship title in November 2025. With both sides aiming to assert dominance, a competitive contest is expected.
Notably, the ODI series will be part of the ICC Women’s Championship, making it crucial for points standings.
ODI Schedule and Venues Confirmed
The ODI leg of the tour will begin on December 9. The opening match will be played in Potchefstroom, followed by the second and third games in Bloemfontein and Cape Town, respectively.
Ahead of the series, the Indian team will play a warm-up match against the South Africa Emerging side on December 6 in Benoni. This fixture will help players adapt to local conditions.-
One-Off Test to Add Historic Touch
After the ODI series, both teams will compete in a one-off Test match from December 20 to 23 in Gqeberha. This will be the fourth Test encounter between the two sides in women’s cricket. Interestingly, it will only be the second women’s Test match hosted at this venue. It will also mark India’s second Test match in 2026.
