Anju Krishna Arrested: News has emerged of the arrest of Anju Krishna, an actress from the Tamil and Malayalam film industries. Anju Krishna was arrested by the Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Unit (ANIU) based on a tip-off, on charges of buying and possessing drugs. It is also reported that her assistant director and six other people have been taken into custody.
Action Based on Suspicion:
Anti-narcotics team inspector Johnny Chellappa apprehended Vigneshwaran, a resident of Nesapakkam, based on suspicion. During questioning, Vigneshwaran named a man named Venkatesh Kumar. A police officer then posed as a customer and approached Venkatesh Kumar to arrange a drug deal. As soon as Venkatesh arrived at the car to collect the drugs, the police surrounded him and searched the vehicle. Drugs were found in the car during the search.
Assistant Director Vincy Nivetha’s Name Surfaces:
During questioning, Venkatesh Kumar also named assistant director Vincy Nivetha. Police have arrested eight accused, including Tamil actress Anju Krishna. Police seized 6 grams of methamphetamine, 7 grams of OG cannabis, 15 grams of regular cannabis, a smoking bong, drug stamps, and 9 mobile phones from them. The police presented all the accused before a magistrate’s court, from where they were sent to judicial custody.
