Dausa, Rajasthan : After years of delay and public inconvenience, a major infrastructure project in Bandikui is finally set to open. The long-pending overbridge, which remained incomplete for nearly a decade, has now been fully constructed. It will be officially inaugurated on April 11, 2026, by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma.

The announcement has brought a wave of excitement across the region. In preparation for the inauguration, the overbridge has been beautifully decorated with vibrant lights and festive arrangements, giving it a celebratory look.
Project Delayed but Finally Delivered
The overbridge project was originally approved during 2015–16 with a proposed budget of around ₹28 crore, jointly backed by the central and state governments. The construction was initially expected to be completed by 2019. However, multiple interruptions and delays caused the timeline to stretch significantly.
With the extension in the project duration, the overall cost also increased by approximately ₹7 crore, taking the total expenditure to nearly ₹35 crore. The structure, measuring around 980 meters in length, is now fully ready for public use.

Role of Local Leadership
Efforts from local representatives played a key role in reviving and completing the stalled project. MLA Bhagchand Tankda actively pursued the matter and held discussions with Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari to ensure the project’s completion. These efforts have now borne fruit.
Relief for Thousands of Residents
The operationalization of the overbridge is expected to ease daily commuting for residents of Bandikui and nearby areas such as Dausa, Rajgarh, and Alwar. It will particularly benefit people from the Bandikui assembly region, including Baswa, Gullana, Karanwar, Panditpura, Kolana, RIICO industrial area, and several adjoining villages.
The bridge is likely to significantly reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity in the region.
