Along with his bowling, he also made a mark with the bat, finishing among the top-10 run scorers in the tournament.

Early Setbacks and Determination

Brijesh initially represented the Jammu & Kashmir state team but was later dropped. Refusing to give up, he spent two years training at a Delhi-based club under the guidance of Deepak Punia. During this phase, he not only worked on his skills but also developed discipline, which became a key part of his growth as a cricketer.

From childhood, Brijesh was more inclined toward sports than studies. Despite facing scolding for skipping school, he remained focused on his dream. Over time, his family, especially his father, began to support his passion wholeheartedly.

Family Support Behind the Dream

Brijesh’s father, Kapoor Chand Sharma, works as a laborer and faced financial struggles while raising the family. Despite limited resources, he ensured that his son never lacked the essentials needed to pursue cricket.

His emotional and moral support played a crucial role in Brijesh’s journey to professional cricket.

Debut Match Performance

In the match, Chennai Super Kings set a modest target of 128 runs, getting bowled out for 127 in 19.4 overs. Jamie Overton top-scored with 43 runs for CSK.

Rajasthan Royals bowlers delivered a disciplined performance. Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, and Ravindra Jadeja picked up two wickets each, while Brijesh Sharma, Sandeep Sharma, and Ravi Bishnoi chipped in with one wicket apiece.

Brijesh’s debut may not have been headline-grabbing, but it marked the beginning of a long-awaited journey at the highest level.

A Dream Realized

After years of struggle, rejection, and hard work, Brijesh Sharma finally stepped onto the IPL stage. His story reflects persistence and belief, proving that determination can eventually open doors, no matter how difficult the path may seem.
