ASI Caught Taking Bribe in Bharatpur, Arrested Red-Handed

Bharatpur, Rajasthan : In a major crackdown on corruption, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posted at Roopwas police station was caught accepting a bribe and arrested on the spot. The operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional SP Amit Kumar Singh.

Accused Demanded Money to Manipulate FIR

According to officials, the complainant was named in an assault case registered at Roopwas police station. The investigation was being handled by ASI Praveen Kumar. During the probe, the officer allegedly intimidated the complainant and offered to remove his name from the FIR in exchange for ₹12,000.

Complaint Leads to Immediate Verification

Disturbed by the demand, the complainant approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Sunday and filed a formal complaint. Acting quickly, the ACB conducted a confidential verification the same day, which confirmed that the bribe had indeed been demanded.

Trap Laid, Accused Nabbed

On Monday, the ACB team set up a trap. As soon as the complainant handed over the ₹12,000 to the ASI, officials who were already in position moved in and caught him red-handed.
