Kritika Kamra Interview : Kritika Kamra began her career in television and quickly rose to become one of the most popular faces on Indian TV. At the peak of her success, she made a bold decision—walking away from a stable and successful TV career to explore films and web series.

Today, she has steadily carved out her own space in the digital and film industry, most recently appearing alongside Vijay Varma in the series Matka King.
Choosing Marriage on Her Own Terms
At 37, Kritika married TV presenter Gaurav Kapoor, a decision that sparked conversations about late marriages. Reflecting on this, she shared that she feels fortunate for not marrying at a younger age. According to her, perspectives at a younger age are often different, especially in smaller towns where early marriage is more common.
She emphasized how her upbringing played a crucial role. Her parents never pressured her about marriage and raised her and her brother equally, allowing her the freedom to make her own life choices.

Changing Views on Love and Relationships
Kritika admits she was quite romantic during her teenage years, influenced by films, music, and her surroundings. However, with time and experience, her outlook evolved. Watching relationships around her—both successful and challenging—helped her gain a deeper understanding of love and companionship.
She believes that real clarity comes with time, as people learn more about themselves and what they truly want in life.

Discovering Herself in Her 20s and 30s
For Kritika, the years between 20 and 30 were transformative. She focused on self-discovery—understanding her identity, priorities, and goals. Coming from a non-film background, this journey was especially important to her.
She pointed out that such self-awareness isn’t always taught early in life, which made it essential for her to invest time in personal growth before making major life decisions.
From a Small Town to Mumbai
Kritika comes from a small-town background where careers like acting were not the norm. With a mother who is a principal and a father who is a doctor, her environment was far removed from the entertainment industry.
Despite having no role models in acting, she chose to move to Mumbai—a decision that was both bold and unfamiliar for her family and community. Today, after 15 years in the industry, her passion for acting remains as strong as ever.

Taking the Big Risk: Leaving TV at Its Peak
One of the most defining moments of her career was leaving television when she was at the top. While she was earning well and had established stability, she decided to step away to explore new opportunities.
Many warned her about the risks, suggesting that transitioning beyond television is not easy. However, more than a decade later, Kritika believes the decision paid off. She has built a diverse body of work and continues to grow as an actor.
Inspired by an Icon
Kritika credits veteran actress Zeenat Aman as her inspiration. Growing up, she admired Zeenat Aman’s films, style, and screen presence—an admiration shared by her father as well.
Still More to Achieve
Despite her journey so far, Kritika feels there is still much more to accomplish. She remains optimistic about her career path and is excited about what lies ahead, continuing to approach each day on set with enthusiasm and dedication.
