Karauli, Rajasthan : On February 5th, a stone-pelting incident occurred in Hindaun City following a minor dispute, creating chaos in the market and forcing some shops to close. Traders also closed the market in protest.
The Kotwali Police Station in Hindaun City, investigating the assault and stone-pelting incident in Dhakad Potha Market, arrested three accused within just three hours, and also detained a minor. The accused were apprehended by the police in Gangapur City.
Incident Details:
On February 5, 2026, at around 3 PM, a dispute arose between Rahul Jatav and the accused in Dhakad Potha Market, Hindaun City, over parking a motorcycle. During the dispute, the accused threw stones and bricks, causing panic in the market. Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and registered a case under various sections of the BNS and the SC/ST Act at Kotwali Police Station, Hindaun City, under crime number 38/2026.
Arrested Accused:
- Nazim Qureshi, son of Farooq, age 20 years, resident of Kasai Pada, Hindaun City
- Sohail alias Chuha, son of Ehsan, age 19 years, resident of Ramlila Maidan Jalsain, Hindaun City
- Faizan, son of Shafiq Khan, age 18 years, resident of Eidgah Colony, Hindaun City
- One minor – detained
It has been reported that the accused Sohail alias Chuha has several previous criminal cases registered against him, due to which he has been declared a history-sheeter, and action under Section 122 will also be taken against him.
District Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sonwal has announced that the police team that arrested the accused within a few hours will be honored with a letter of appreciation and a cash reward.
