Kaushambi ( Uttar Pradesh ) : A disturbing incident from Kaushambi district in Uttar Pradesh has stirred widespread concern after an alleged abusive audio clip involving police officials surfaced on social media. The clip is said to feature Sarai Akil SHO Veer Pratap Singh and Kanaili outpost in-charge Jitendra Pratap Singh, reportedly using offensive language during a conversation with a local journalist.
Allegations of Threats and Misconduct
According to claims, the SHO can be heard speaking disrespectfully and allegedly threatening the journalist with false charges under the SC/ST Act. The audio quickly went viral, intensifying public anger and raising serious questions about police conduct.
Background of the Incident
The matter is linked to a report on illegal sand mining in the Yamuna river, published recently by local journalist Sanjay Singh, who is associated with a Hindi daily ” Hindustan” newspaper. The journalist alleges that the report upset certain officials.
He claims that on Wednesday night around 9 PM, he was taken into custody from Sarai Akil square by the Kanaili outpost in-charge and brought to the police station.
Serious Allegations Inside the Police Station
The journalist has accused the SHO of behaving aggressively upon his arrival at the station. He alleges that he was verbally abused, threatened with false cases, and even physically assaulted. Additionally, he claims that humiliating threats were made during the incident.
The entire exchange was reportedly recorded, and the audio clip is now circulating widely online.
Police Response and Investigation Ordered
As the situation escalated, other journalists informed Superintendent of Police Satyanarayan. Following the intervention, the journalist was released later that night.
The victim has submitted a written complaint to the SP, demanding strict action against the officers involved.
Taking the matter seriously, the SP has ordered an official inquiry. The investigation has been assigned to the Circle Officer of Chayal, and further action will depend on the findings.
