Strait of Hormuz Tensions : According to circulating reports, a new maritime restriction has reportedly been initiated in the Strait of Hormuz, linked to statements attributed to former U.S. President Donald Trump. The reported measure is said to have come into effect at 7:30 PM (U.S. time 10:00 AM).
Sources claim that under this alleged directive, vessels approaching the Strait could face inspection and possible interception. It is further reported that strict action may be taken against ships linked to what is described as “illegal payments” to Iran.
Trump is also quoted in these reports as warning that any Iranian vessel approaching the restricted zone could face immediate consequences, with enforcement compared to aggressive anti-smuggling naval operations.
Iranian officials, however, have responded differently. Iran’s ambassador to India, Mohammad Fattahli, reportedly stated that Indian ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz have not been subjected to any tolls and would continue to receive safe passage support.
