Gehlot–Pilot Tensions Resurface Amid Fresh Political Sparring in Rajasthan

Rajasthan: The long-running differences between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot have once again come into the spotlight. Speaking to the media outside Jaipur Airport on Tuesday, Gehlot, for the third time in two weeks, accused Pilot of previously being part of efforts to topple the state government.

A Softer Note from Gehlot

Even as he repeated the allegation, Gehlot struck a slightly conciliatory tone. He said Pilot may have earlier been influenced by the BJP but has now realized his mistake. According to Gehlot, Pilot is now fully committed to the Congress and is not going anywhere.

BJP Leader’s Remarks Add Fuel

The controversy deepened after comments by BJP leader Radha Mohan Das Agrawal during an event in Tonk. While attending a function to welcome BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Agrawal described Pilot as a “two-faced” leader, questioning his loyalty and suggesting he straddles more than one political space.

He further stirred debate by calling Pilot an outsider from Uttar Pradesh and expressing surprise over his election as an MLA in Rajasthan.

Congress Reacts Strongly

Congress leaders in the state have strongly objected to Agrawal’s remarks. Senior party figures condemned the statement as inappropriate and demanded that the BJP leader issue a public apology.

Political Temperature Rises

With internal disagreements and external criticism unfolding together, Rajasthan’s political atmosphere is once again heating up. While Gehlot’s remarks hint at possible reconciliation, the continuing exchanges suggest that tensions within the Congress are still simmering beneath the surface.
