Bihar Cabinet Expansion 2026: 27 NDA MLAs to Take Oath at Gandhi Maidan

Bihar : The Bihar government led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary is set for a major cabinet expansion today. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at 12:10 PM at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna, where a total of 27 NDA legislators will take oath as ministers.

Ahead of the ceremony, the list of leaders likely to be inducted from the BJP quota has surfaced.

BJP Leaders Likely to Become Ministers

The following BJP leaders are expected to take oath as ministers in the Bihar cabinet:

  1. E Shailendra
  2. Sanjay Tiger
  3. Vijay Sinha
  4. Nitish Mishra
  5. Shreyasi Singh
  6. Dilip Jaiswal
  7. Arun Shankar Prasad
  8. Pramod Chandravanshi
  9. Lakhendra Paswan
  10. Mithilesh Tiwari

Government Was Functioning With Limited Cabinet

Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary along with Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav had taken oath at Lok Bhavan on April 15. Since then, cabinet meetings were being held, but the full structure of the government had not yet taken shape.

Even during Wednesday’s cabinet meeting, only these three senior leaders were present. With today’s expansion, the government will finally get its complete ministerial team.

Top NDA Leaders to Attend Event

Several senior NDA leaders are expected to remain present during the oath-taking ceremony at Gandhi Maidan. These include Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda, BJP national president Nitin Naveen, and JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar.

Union ministers from Bihar are also expected to attend the event, making it one of the biggest political gatherings in the state in recent months.
