Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh : Students from Auraiya aspiring to build a career in sports now have an opportunity to apply for admission to sports colleges for the 2026-27 academic session. The Department of Sports has officially opened the admission process, and eligible boys and girls from the district can submit their online applications until May 9 through the department’s official portal.
District Sports Officer Shares Admission Details
District Sports Officer Sanjeev Kumar Verma said that admissions are being conducted under the Uttar Pradesh Sports College Society.
Applications have been invited for admission to several prestigious institutions, including:
- Guru Gobind Singh Sports College
- Veer Bahadur Singh Sports College
- Sports College Varanasi
- Major Dhyan Chand Sports College
- Sports College Prayagraj
- Sports Hostel Jhansi
Application Fee and Age Criteria
Candidates must complete the registration process online. The application fee has been fixed at ₹200.
Age eligibility for different classes has been set as follows:
- Class 6: 9 to 12 years
- Class 9: 12 to 15 years
- Class 11: 15 to 17 years
The age of applicants will be calculated as of April 1, 2026.
Selection in Multiple Sports Categories
The district sports office stated that selections will be conducted for both boys and girls in a wide range of sports disciplines, including:
Athletics, Hockey, Cricket, Kabaddi, Football, Basketball, Judo, Wrestling, Badminton, Volleyball, and Table Tennis.
Trial Dates and Selection Process
The preliminary selection trials are scheduled for May 24 and May 25, 2026. All participants must report at the venue by 7:00 AM.
The selection test will carry a total of 100 marks, divided equally between:
- 50 marks for physical fitness assessment
- 50 marks for sports skills and performance
Candidates shortlisted in the preliminary trials will undergo final selection by the sports college headquarters in Lucknow.
