Kota, Rajasthan : A devastating road accident in Kota claimed the lives of three passengers and left more than 20 injured late Wednesday night. The incident occurred around midnight near Nayagaon Pulia under the RK Puram police station area.
Passengers Blame Stone Strike for Loss of Control
According to passengers, the accident may have been triggered when someone allegedly threw a stone at the front windshield of the moving sleeper bus. The sudden impact reportedly distracted the driver, causing him to lose control of the vehicle.
Bus Crosses Divider, Overturns on Opposite Lane
After losing control, the bus veered off course, crossed the road divider, and entered the opposite lane before overturning. The impact shattered parts of the bus, and several passengers were thrown onto the road through broken glass sections.
Three Crushed by Oncoming Trolley
In a tragic turn, three passengers who fell onto the road were run over by an oncoming trolley. Two of the deceased have been identified as residents of Bhind district in Madhya Pradesh — Dharmendra and Krishna. Police stated that these passengers were seated in the driver’s cabin, and were thrown out when the front windshield broke during the crash.
Bus Was Heading from Ahmedabad to MP
The private bus was traveling from Ahmedabad towards Gwalior and Bhind. Most of the passengers onboard were reportedly from Madhya Pradesh.
Rescue Operation Continued Till Early Morning
The bus overturn left many passengers trapped inside. Rescue teams worked at the site until around 2:30 AM to pull out the injured and clear the wreckage.

Injured Admitted to Kota Medical College Hospital
More than 20 injured passengers were rushed to the Medical College Hospital in Kota. Among the injured are Devendra, Poonam, Pari, Somveer, and Satyam from Gwalior, along with Ramdulare, Naveen, Naina, and Poojak from Bhind, who suffered head and limb injuries. The identities of several other injured passengers are still being verified.
Investigation Underway
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, including the claim that a stone strike led to the crash. Further details are awaited as authorities continue their probe into the exact cause of the accident.
