Hindaun City, Karauli : In a swift action, the police have arrested eight accused involved in four major criminal incidents that took place in Hindaun around Holi. Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sonwal, while talking to media persons at the Additional Superintendent of Police office located at RICO on Monday, revealed the police action.
Superintendent of Police Sonwal said that criminals will not be allowed to flourish in Karauli district under any circumstances, rather strict legal action will be taken against those who provide shelter to criminals.
During the conversation with the journalists, Hindaun ASP Satyendra Pal Singh, DSP Munesh Kumar, trainee RPS Shrestha Dixit, Police Inspector Sohan Singh, Purushottam, Traffic Incharge Ramniwas etc. were present.
Incident No. 1
main accused in the Bhukrawali murder case was a railway employee, and the role of the former Congress district president is also suspicious.
Among the four major incidents in which Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sonwal has disclosed the arrests of the accused, one major case involves the brutal murder of a young man, Ramveer Jatav, by beating him with sticks on March 4th in Bhukrawali village, under the Surauth police station area.

In this case, the deceased Ramveer’s brother, Lavkush Jatav, filed a report at the Surauth police station. Ten accused were named in the case. The Superintendent of Police announced a reward of 10,000 rupees each for the arrest of these 10 named accused on the same day.
In addition, an SIT was formed to apprehend the accused, and 11 separate police teams were formed. Superintendent of Police Sonwal stated that the main accused in this murder case was Hariram Meena alias Halli, son of Ramsahay Meena, a resident of Bhukrawali.
He works as a tradesman in the Railways in Bhatinda, Punjab. He fled to Bhatinda after the incident. Police pursued him and arrested him in Bhatinda. An intensive search is underway for other accused in the case.
Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sonwal stated that the role of former Congress District President Shivraj Meena is also suspected in the Bhukrawali murder case. Shivraj Meena is a resident of Bhukrawali village and has also served as the head of the Hindaun Panchayat Samiti.
Superintendent of Police Sonwal stated that the victim’s side has also named Shivraj Meena’s role in their statements, which the police are investigating thoroughly. Shivraj Meena has also been absconding since the incident. He will be interrogated upon arrest, and if found guilty, necessary legal action will be taken.
Incident No. 2
A woman was assaulted and fired upon after being prevented from applying Holi colors.
Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sonwal stated that the second major incident occurred in Ratanpura, Karasoli, under the Hindaun Sadar police station area. A report was filed on March 5th. In the report, Gajendra, son of Prabhulal Jatav, a resident of Ratanpura, stated that on March 4th, around 2 p.m., Viru Gurjar and others from Narsinghpura arrived in a Scorpio and opened fire.
Later that evening, Viru and others arrived and again opened fire. The dispute arose from preventing a woman from applying Holi colors. When Rekha Singh and Satish stopped them from firing, they assaulted them.
Police have taken action in this case and arrested Virendra Gurjar, son of Jagdish Gurjar, a resident of Narsinghpura, and Mahendra, son of Samanta, a resident of Karasoli, and seized the Scorpio used in the incident.
Incident No. 3
Firing in the air to try to grab land by creating fear
Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sonwal stated that on February 22nd, before Holi, aerial firing was done near the bypass intersection on Mandawara Road in Hindaun, in an attempt to grab land by creating fear. A JCB was used to break the boundary wall.
Police investigation revealed that a history-sheeter played a significant role in the incident, and the incident was carried out as an organized crime. Mahesh Chand, son of Girraj Prasad Sharma, and Umesh, son of Ramkhiladi Brahmin, both from Dubbe Pada, Hindaun, filed a report in this case.
The Nai Madi police station took action in this case and arrested Dharamraj alias Babbal Gurjar, son of Ram Singh, a native of Salempur and currently a resident of Patel Nagar, Hindaun, and Kallu, son of Durga Gurjar, a resident of Mandawara Road.
Incident No. 4
A young man sitting at a restaurant was beaten with sticks and injured, and panic was spread by firing in the air. Criminals were called from Hanumangarh for the crime.
Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sonwal revealed that the fourth major incident occurred on March 5, 2026, at Radharani Restaurant under the overbridge. Omveer, son of Pitam Singh Gurjar, a native of Rajapura and currently residing near Peeli Kothi, was injured.
He was beaten with sticks and fired in the air by some people in a hotel-related dispute. The incident was captured on CCTV. Taking action in this case, the Nai Mandi police station arrested Bhupendra Singh Gurjar, son of Hargilas, and Sugriva, son of Maharaj Singh Gurjar, residents of Sahadgi Ka Pura, along with Dhanraj, son of Lal Chand Meghwal, a resident of Dabli Kala Talavda, Hanumangarh.
Police investigation revealed that the attackers had called criminals from Hanumangarh to carry out the crime due to an ongoing dispute over the hotel. Other accused in the case are also being searched.
