Cricketer Rinku Singh’s father passes away : Amid the T20 World Cup 2026, the family of Team India’s young star Rinku Singh has been struck by grief. His father, Khanchand Singh, passed away early Friday morning. He had been battling liver cancer for a long time and the disease had reached its final stage.

Undergoing treatment for a year and a half

Khanchand Singh had stage-4 liver cancer and had been undergoing treatment for the past year and a half. On February 24th, his health suddenly deteriorated, after which he was admitted to Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida. As his condition became critical, he was put on ventilator support.

According to hospital sources, he breathed his last at around 4:36 a.m. on Friday. His death was officially confirmed at around 5 a.m. The family then took the body home.

Had left the team and reached the hospital

Rinku Singh had rushed to the hospital from Chennai upon receiving news of his father’s deteriorating condition. He spent several hours with his father and received complete treatment information from doctors. However, after fulfilling his family responsibilities, he rejoined Team India.

He did not get a chance in the playing eleven in the match against Zimbabwe, but he appeared on the field as a fielder. Staying with the team despite difficult times shows his commitment.

Cricket world expresses grief

The news of Rinku Singh’s father’s death sent shockwaves through the cricket world. Former spinner Harbhajan Singh expressed his condolences on social media, writing that this is a very difficult time for Rinku and his family. He prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace and for courage to the family.
