Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Creates History in IPL 2026, Smashes Record for Fastest 100 T20 Sixes

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi : Young batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi added another major milestone to his growing career during the IPL 2026 clash against Gujarat Titans in Jaipur. The aggressive batter played a quickfire innings of 36 runs from just 16 balls, entertaining the crowd with three boundaries and three massive sixes.

But it was not just another explosive cameo—Suryavanshi used this knock to enter the record books by becoming the fastest batter to complete 100 sixes in T20 cricket.

Fastest to 100 T20 Sixes

Suryavanshi reached the milestone in only 515 deliveries, making him the quickest player ever to touch the 100-sixes mark in the format.

With this achievement, he went past Austria’s Karanbir Singh, who had reached the mark in 813 balls, and former West Indies star Kieron Pollard, who needed 843 deliveries for the same feat.

The record moment came as soon as Suryavanshi launched his first six of the innings. Facing Mohammed Siraj, he sent the very first ball he faced over the boundary to create history.

Attack Continues Against Rabada

After his record-breaking hit, Suryavanshi continued his fearless approach. He took on Kagiso Rabada and smashed him for back-to-back sixes, putting the Gujarat bowlers under immediate pressure.

His entertaining knock eventually came to an end when Siraj dismissed him. Attempting another big shot, Suryavanshi was caught by Arshad Khan in the field.

Second Highest by an Indian in One IPL Season

With three more sixes added to his tally, Suryavanshi now has 40 sixes in IPL 2026, moving to second place among Indian batters with the most sixes in a single IPL season.

Only Abhishek Sharma stands ahead of him, having hit 42 sixes in the 2024 season.

Suryavanshi also moved past several top Indian names on the list, including Shreyas Iyer (39), Virat Kohli (38), and Suryakumar Yadav (38).

New Powerplay Record

The young batter also created another major record during the season by becoming the player with the most sixes in the powerplay in a single IPL season.

Suryavanshi now has 30 powerplay sixes in IPL 2026, breaking Abhishek Sharma’s previous record of 29 set in 2024.

Before that, the long-standing benchmark belonged to Sanath Jayasuriya, who had smashed 22 powerplay sixes back in the 2008 season.

A Season to Remember

With records falling one after another, Vaibhav Suryavanshi is turning IPL 2026 into a season to remember. His fearless strokeplay and ability to dominate from the very first ball have made him one of the biggest talking points of the tournament.
