Palash Muchhal Fraud Case : Music composer and filmmaker Palash Muchhal has been accused of defrauding someone of ₹40 lakh. According to the news agency PTI, a 34-year-old actor, Vigyan Mane, has filed a police complaint against Palash Muchhal in Sangli district of Maharashtra. The complainant alleges that Palash defrauded him of ₹40 lakh. Vigyan Mane submitted the complaint to the police on Thursday.
What is the case ?
In his complaint, Vigyan Mane claims that Palash Muchhal took ₹40 lakh from him in the name of a film. According to the complaint, Vigyan Mane met Palash on December 5, 2023, in Sangli, where he was asked to invest in filmmaking. Palash reportedly asked him to invest in his upcoming film, “Nazariya.”
Palash allegedly told him that he could earn a profit of ₹12 lakh by investing ₹25 lakh. The complaint mentions two meetings and alleges that ₹40 lakh was given to Palash by March 2025.
Film not completed –
When the complainant, Vigyan Mane, asked Palash for his money back after the film was not completed, he received no response. After trying to contact him for several months without success, he filed a complaint with the Sangli police on Thursday.
Attempt to tarnish reputation –
Palash Muchhal posted a story on his Instagram regarding this matter. In the story, Palash called all the allegations baseless and stated that he would pursue legal action. Palash wrote that these allegations have been made with the malicious intent of tarnishing his reputation. Palash added that his lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, is exploring all legal options and the matter will be dealt with through legal means.
Allegations against Palash’s mother as well –
Vigyan Mane also stated in his complaint that Palash’s mother blackmailed him when he asked for the money back. She even threatened to have Vigyan Mane’s character removed from the film. The situation escalated when Palash, instead of returning the money, demanded an additional 10 lakh rupees. According to Vigyan Mane, Palash frequently asked him for small sums of money, usually 1000-2000 rupees.
Vigyan Mane has also accused Palash of using Smriti Mandhana’s name and popularity to raise money.
