Karauli, Rajasthan : A heartbreaking incident occurred on Saturday morning in Khokhanpura village, part of the Karsai Gram Panchayat, located on the Kailadevi Road. A mother and her three-year-old daughter drowned while bathing in a small pond near a hill. The family is inconsolable.
Dilkeshi (27), wife of Khokhanpura resident Dharam Singh Meena, had gone to bathe in a pond just 50 meters from their home at around 10 a.m. with her three-year-old daughter, Srishti. When they did not return for a long time, their family became concerned. Upon checking the pond, they found clothes and slippers lying on the stairs.
The clothes and slippers raised fears of something untoward.The villagers, seeing the clothes on the stairs, feared something untoward had happened. They began searching for them. After about 20 minutes of hard work, the bodies of the two were found in the water and were pulled out.
While bathing, Srishti, the innocent girl, slipped and fell into the water. In an attempt to save her, her mother, Dilkeshi, reached out and went into the water. Unable to swim, she drowned in the pond.
