RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 : A major employment opportunity has arrived for candidates preparing for government jobs in the railway sector. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a short notification for the recruitment of 11,127 Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) posts across different railway zones.

According to the official schedule, the online application process for this recruitment drive will begin on May 15, 2026, and interested candidates will be able to submit their applications until June 14, 2026.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 must fulfill the required educational qualifications. Applicants should have passed 10th standard from a recognized board along with an ITI certificate from a recognized institution.

Apart from this, candidates who have completed Diploma in Engineering after 10th are also eligible to apply. Those holding an Engineering Degree can also submit applications for this recruitment.

Age Limit

To apply for the Assistant Loco Pilot post, the minimum age of the candidate should be 18 years, while the maximum age should not exceed 30 years.

Age relaxation will be provided as per government rules:

• OBC candidates: 3 years relaxation
• SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation

Other reserved categories and ex-servicemen will also get age relaxation as per applicable rules.

Application Fee

Candidates belonging to General and other categories will have to pay an application fee of ₹500 while submitting the online application form.

For candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Transgender, and EBC categories, the application fee has been fixed at ₹250.

The fee can be paid through online payment modes.

Selection Process

The selection process for RRB ALP Recruitment 2026 will be conducted in multiple stages.

Candidates will first have to appear in:

• CBT 1 (Computer Based Test – Stage 1)
• CBT 2 (Computer Based Test – Stage 2)

Candidates who qualify both stages will then be called for:

• CBAT (Computer Based Aptitude Test)
• Document Verification (DV)
• Medical Examination (ME)

After successful completion of all stages, the final selection list of qualified candidates will be released.
