Bonnie Tyler : Grammy-nominated singer Bonnie Tyler is recovering after undergoing emergency intestinal surgery in Portugal. The update was shared by her manager, Matt Davis, through a statement released to media outlets and posted on the singer’s official platforms.
According to the statement, Tyler was admitted to a hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she owns a home. Davis confirmed that the operation was successful and that the singer is now resting and recovering.
Manager Shares Health Update
Matt Davis said that Bonnie Tyler’s surgery “went well” and added that her family, friends, and fans would naturally be concerned about her health. He also expressed hope for her “full and speedy recovery.”
The singer, who is 74 years old, still has several international performances planned between May and December this year.

Earlier this year, Tyler spoke with Hello! magazine about staying active and continuing to perform on stage. She said she still feels healthy enough to tour and enjoys performing with her band.
The singer also shared that she follows a simple Pilates routine for around 20 minutes a day, even while traveling. According to Tyler, maintaining good health remains very important to her.
She mentioned that knee problems had been one of her biggest concerns recently, but revealed she had already undergone a successful washout procedure that she hoped would help her for years to come.
Career Filled With Global Hits
Bonnie Tyler first rose to fame in the late 1970s with songs like It’s a Heartache and Lost in France. She later became an international music icon with tracks including Holding Out for a Hero and Total Eclipse of the Heart, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for four weeks after its release in 1983.
In April this year, she released two new songs — One World One Home, written for the documentary Homeless, and Only Love.

In 2023, Bonnie Tyler — born Gaynor Sullivan — received the honor of becoming a Member of the Order of the British Empire for her contribution to music. The ceremony took place at Windsor Castle.
