Rajasthan Government Restricts Use of Private Halls for Events

Jaipur, Rajasthan : In a major move aimed at reducing unnecessary expenditure, the Rajasthan government has decided that official events will no longer be organised at private venues such as hotels or banquet halls. The new directive makes it clear that government functions must be held at govt facilities unless special permission is granted.

Approval Mandatory for Exceptions

The government has kept a provision for exceptional situations. If organizing an event at a private venue becomes unavoidable, prior approval will be required from a committee led by V. Srinivas, the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan.Without clearance from this committee, no department will be allowed to host events at private locations.

Focus on Using Government Infrastructure

According to officials, the decision has been taken to ensure better utilization of existing government infrastructure while also cutting down avoidable expenses.

Instructions have already been issued by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas to all departments, corporations, and autonomous bodies to strictly conduct their events in government buildings and conference halls.

Designated Venues for Government Programs

The state government has also identified specific venues where official programs can be organised. These include:

  • Rajasthan International Centre
  • Constitution Club Rajasthan
  • Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Institute
  • HCM RIPASIAM Durgapura

These locations will now serve as the primary venues for hosting government-related events.

A Step Towards Financial Discipline

This decision reflects the government’s intent to promote financial discipline and make better use of public resources. By limiting the use of private venues, the administration aims to significantly reduce spending on official events while ensuring efficiency.
