Sport Desk, New Delhi : The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a massive cash reward of ₹131 crore for the Indian cricket team following their victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. With this announcement, the board has surpassed its previous record, as it had earlier rewarded the team with ₹125 crore after India’s T20 World Cup win in 2024.
Historic Win in Ahmedabad
India secured the T20 World Cup title on Sunday, March 8, at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium. The side, led by Suryakumar Yadav, delivered a dominant performance in the final and defeated New Zealand national cricket team by 96 runs. The victory marked India’s third T20 World Cup title, adding another historic chapter to the nation’s cricketing achievements.
Reward to Be Shared Among Team Members
According to BCCI’s announcement, the ₹131 crore reward will be distributed among the players, coaching staff, and other members of the support team who contributed to the campaign. However, the board has not yet released the exact breakdown of how the money will be divided among individuals.

Reports suggest that the reward will be allocated according to roles within the team. This means the captain, head coach, players, and other support staff could receive different amounts depending on their responsibilities. ICC Prize Money Already Awarded
Apart from the BCCI’s reward, Team India has also received prize money from the International Cricket Council (ICC) for winning the tournament. The ICC has awarded the champions around 2.3 million US dollars, which is approximately ₹21.5 crore in Indian currency.
With both the ICC prize and the BCCI bonus, the Indian team has received a substantial financial reward along with the prestige of lifting the world title once again.
