India won the rain-affected first match by 21 runs under the DLS method. Australia made a comeback in the second match by 19 runs, but in the decisive match, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team won by 17 runs to win the series.
The two teams are now scheduled to play a three-match ODI series, starting February 24th.
