West Indies beat Zimbabwe by 107 runs

West Indies vs Zimbabwe : In their first match of the Super 8 stage, the West Indies put up a strong performance, defeating Zimbabwe by a huge margin of 107 runs. Batting first, the Caribbean team displayed explosive form and posted a mammoth total of 254 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Shimron Hetmyer and Rovman Powell led the innings with half-centuries. Both batsmen adopted an aggressive approach and maintained constant pressure on the Zimbabwean bowlers, putting the team in a strong position.

Chasing the target, Zimbabwe’s start was not as expected. Wickets fell at regular intervals, and the team was all out for 147 runs in 17.4 overs. Brad Evans top-scored for Zimbabwe with 43 runs, but he lacked the support he needed from the other end.

In bowling, West Indies’ Gudakesh Moti was lethal, taking four wickets. Apart from him, Akil Hussain took three wickets, Matthew Ford took two wickets and Jason Holder took one wicket, making the victory one-sided.
