Israel honours PM Narendra Modi with the ‘Speaker of the Knesset Medal’

Narendra Modi In Israel : The Israeli Parliament honored Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the Speaker of the Knesset Medal, the highest honor of the Knesset. This honor was given in recognition of PM Modi’s contribution to strengthening the strategic relationship between India and Israel.

Prime Minister Modi’s Second Day in Israel:

Today is the second day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel. PM Modi will visit Yad Vashem, a memorial to Holocaust victims. Additionally, he will hold a bilateral meeting with the Israeli Prime Minister, where several defense agreements, including the purchase of drones, are expected to be discussed.

India’s Key Role in the Middle East

Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Sharen Haskel described India as playing a key role in bringing peace and stability to the Middle East. She said that the strategic partnership between India, Israel, and the United States is crucial for peace and prosperity in the region.

Appeal to Prime Minister Modi to raise the Palestine issue

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi appealed to Prime Minister Modi to address Palestinian rights during his visit to Israel. He criticized Israeli military action in Gaza, calling it tantamount to genocide.

Opposition MPs Protest in Israeli Parliament

A special session of the Israeli Parliament was held for Prime Minister Modi’s address, but opposition MPs protested. They walked out because Parliament Speaker Amir Ohana did not invite Supreme Court President Isaac Amit. The opposition said they would not return to the House until Narendra Modi began speaking.
