New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) appears to be facing a major internal crisis, with reports suggesting that several of its senior leaders are preparing to switch sides. Among them are Rajya Sabha MPs Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak, and Ashok Mittal, who are expected to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In addition, names like Harbhajan Singh, Rajendra Gupta, Swati Maliwal, and Vikram Sahney are also being mentioned as part of this Possible political shift.
Raghav Chadha’s Strong Remarks
Raghav Chadha made sharp remarks about the party’s direction, alleging that AAP has drifted away from its original purpose. He claimed the party is no longer working in the national interest but is driven by personal gains.
He said the party, which was formed with a promise to eliminate corruption, is now in the hands of “compromised individuals.”
Chadha further claimed that nearly two-thirds of AAP’s MPs are set to join the BJP. Announcing his separation from the party, he said:
“I nurtured this party with my blood and sweat. I am announcing that I am distancing myself from AAP. I was a founding member, and perhaps no one understands the party better than I do. This is no longer the same party. I stayed away from party activities for the past year because I could not associate myself with actions I did not agree with.”
Sandeep Pathak Announces Exit
Sandeep Pathak also expressed disappointment, saying he never imagined such a situation would arise. Announcing his decision to part ways, he said:
“I joined politics with the aim of serving the country. I came from a farmer’s family, worked hard in my studies, and entered public life with a purpose. I always kept the party above everything and worked with complete honesty. But today, my path is different.”
Ashok Mittal’s Changing Role
Recently, Ashok Mittal was appointed as AAP’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, replacing Raghav Chadha. Now, developments suggest that Mittal may align with Chadha in this political move.It is also notable that Mittal had faced a raid at his residence a few days ago, adding to the political tension around these Events.
Growing Uncertainty in Party Ranks
These developments point toward a deepening crisis within AAP, with multiple senior leaders publicly expressing dissatisfaction. If the reported shift materializes, it could significantly impact the party’s position, especially in Punjab and at the national level.
So far, there has been no official confirmation from the party leadership regarding these claims.
