Singer Asha Bhosle Passes Away : India has lost one of its most iconic voices. Veteran playback singer Asha Bhosle is no more. She breathed her last on Sunday at the age of 92 after being hospitalized due to deteriorating health.

Hospitalization and Final Moments

On Saturday, the singer was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after her condition worsened. She was undergoing treatment in the emergency medical services unit. Despite continuous medical care and prayers from fans across the world, she could not recover.

Her son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed the sad news during a conversation with media.

Earlier, her granddaughter Zanai Bhosle had shared a health update on social media, stating that the singer was suffering from extreme fatigue and a chest infection. The family had requested privacy while hoping for her recovery.

Fans Gathered in Hope

As news of her illness spread, fans gathered outside the hospital and her residence in Mumbai, praying for her well-being. Sadly, their hopes were shattered with the news of her demise.

Last Rites Details

The final rites of Asha Bhosle will take place on Monday.Her mortal remains will be kept for public viewing at her residence in Lower Parel at 11 AM.The cremation is scheduled at 4 PM at Shivaji Park in Dadar.

Notably, this is the same place where her elder sister, Lata Mangeshkar, was cremated.

A Journey Rooted in Music

Born on September 8, 1933, into a musically rich family, Asha Bhosle was the daughter of Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar, a renowned classical singer and actor.

After her father’s death when she was just nine, the family moved from Pune to Kolhapur and eventually settled in Mumbai. Inspired by her elder sister Lata Mangeshkar, she stepped into the world of music at a young age.

Early Career and Rise to Stardom

Her first song was in the Marathi film Maza Bal (1943), titled “Chala Chala Nav Bala.” She made her Bollywood debut with the song “Sawan Aaya” from the film Chunariya (1948).

From there, her journey spanned over seven decades. With her versatile voice and unmatched talent, she became one of the most celebrated playback singers in Indian cinema.
