Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei stated that the assertion about Iran seeking a truce is “false and unfounded.”Baghaei emphasized that no such communication had taken place, directly contradicting Trump’s remarks.
Trump’s Statement Raises Questions
Earlier, Trump claimed that the president of Iran’s “new regime” had approached him for a ceasefire. However, he did not clarify who exactly made the request.
He also warned that any consideration of a ceasefire would depend on reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Otherwise, he indicated that military strikes on Iran would continue.
Leadership in Iran Remains Unchanged
It is important to note that Masoud Pezeshkian has remained Iran’s president both before and after the escalation that began on February 28, when joint US-Israel military actions reportedly intensified in the region.

Since the conflict began, Iran has launched 89 missile attacks under its campaign, “Operation True Promise-4.” These strikes have targeted not only Israel but also US military bases across West Asia.
