New Delhi : The sealing of the office of United News of India (UNI), one of the country’s oldest news agencies, has led to widespread concern over press freedom. The action has come under scrutiny following allegations of misconduct during the operation.
Staff Allege Forced Eviction
According to employees present at the time, officials carried out the sealing process in a manner that resulted in the forcible eviction of staff. Several employees claimed they were not given enough time to collect their personal belongings before being asked to leave the premises.

Allegations Against Police Personnel
Serious accusations have also been made against members of the Delhi Police. Some journalists alleged that female staff members were manhandled during the process. There were also claims suggesting that certain police personnel were intoxicated while on duty.
