Jaipur, Rajasthan : Amid ongoing discussions about possible privatization in Rajasthan’s electricity sector, the state government has approved fresh recruitment in power companies. The Finance Department has given permission to fill 2,005 vacant positions across five electricity-related corporations.
Posts to Be Filled
According to the approval, the recruitment will include the following positions:
- 869 posts of Junior Engineer
- 371 posts of Junior Accountant
- 765 posts of Commercial Assistant
These recruitments will take place in the state’s major electricity organizations, including the power distribution, generation, and transmission companies.
Distribution of Vacancies
The approved posts will be distributed among the companies as follows:
- Ajmer DISCOM: 393 posts
- Jaipur DISCOM: 593 posts
- Jodhpur DISCOM: 448 posts
- Rajasthan Power Generation Corporation: 308 posts
- Rajasthan Power Transmission Corporation: 263 posts
The Energy Department will soon decide which recruitment agency will conduct the hiring process.
Approval Given for Only 2,005 Posts
Power companies in the state have been facing staff shortages for a long time, which has been affecting operations as well as consumer services. Earlier, the Energy Department had proposed recruitment for 3,452 vacant posts, but the Finance Department has currently approved hiring for 2,005 positions only.
Further decisions regarding the remaining vacancies may be taken later.
