Govind Singh Dotasara – According to the Supreme Court’s order, it is necessary to conduct an OBC survey for reservation in local bodies and Panchayati Raj elections, so that political representation can be provided in accordance with constitutional provisions.
After coming to power, the BJP did not conduct an OBC survey for approximately one and a half years. However, due to criticism and pressure, the government constituted the OBC Commission on May 9, 2025, and set a three-month deadline for the report.
The BJP government’s sole intention was to postpone local body and Panchayat elections, so instead of accepting the report from the Commission, the government extended the three-month deadline to nine months. During this period, the BJP government deliberately delayed the OBC survey report and the elections.
The Supreme Court of India took cognizance of the violation of constitutional provisions and ordered the BJP government to conduct elections by April 15, 2026. However, the BJP is still engaged in the murder of democracy by postponing the elections. The OBC Commission formed by the BJP government has been in power for more than nine and a half months, yet the OBC survey report has not yet been released.It has now come to light that the OBC Commission has the survey report ready.
However, the BJP government is asking the Commission to delay and postpone the report. The BJP’s sole objective is to stall the civic and panchayat elections.
The Supreme Court has issued its order, the OBC survey report is ready, and the ₹3,000 crore from the central government is on the verge of lapsing. Despite this, the BJP is engaged in murdering democracy and tearing apart the Constitution by postponing the elections.
