Alwar, Rajasthan : In a major anti-corruption operation in Rajasthan’s Alwar, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Krishna Avatar Gupta, currently posted as Executive Engineer (TA) in the office of the Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department (PWD), while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹25,000.
The action was carried out by the ACB’s Alwar First Unit under the directions of the ACB headquarters.
Complaint Filed Over NOC for Petrol Pump
According to officials, the complainant approached the ACB alleging that a Letter of Intent (LOI) had been issued in the name of his elder brother’s son for setting up an HPCL petrol pump at Barkheda village on Laxmangarh Road, State Highway-44.
For issuing the required No Objection Certificate (NOC) related to the petrol pump project, Krishna Avatar Gupta allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹40,000 and was reportedly pressuring the complainant for payment.
Verification Confirmed Bribe Demand
The ACB conducted verification proceedings on May 1, 2026. During verification, the accused was found accepting ₹10,000 and further demanding ₹25,000 from the complainant.
After the complaint was verified, the bureau planned a trap operation.
Officer Arrested While Accepting ₹25,000
Under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police Bhuvan Bhushan, the trap operation was led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Shabbir Khan of ACB Alwar First Unit.
During the operation, Krishna Avatar Gupta was caught red-handed while allegedly accepting ₹25,000 from the complainant.
Investigation Under Anti-Corruption Act Continues
Officials said that further questioning and legal proceedings are currently underway under the supervision of Additional Director General of Police Smita Shrivastava and Inspector General S. Parimala.
The ACB has registered a case under the anti-corruption laws and further investigation in the matter is in progress.
