Bikaner, Rajasthan – In Bikaner, security agencies went on high alert after a foreign national was found roaming near the India-Pakistan international border. The incident took place in the sensitive Khajuwala region, which lies close to the border.

Locals Inform Police

According to officials from Khajuwala, a foreign man was seen moving suspiciously on Hospital Road in the local market area on April 4. As the region is restricted and rarely visited by foreign tourists, residents immediately informed the police.

A police team reached the spot and detained the individual. Given the seriousness of the situation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and intelligence agencies were also alerted and joined the investigation.

No Suspicious Items Recovered

During the search, officials did not find any weapons or suspicious materials in the man’s possession. His passport and visa were verified and found to be valid.

Entry Into Restricted Area Raises Concern

Preliminary investigation revealed that the individual is a citizen of Denmark. He had arrived in India in September on a one-year tourist visa. However, Khajuwala is classified as a prohibited area due to its proximity to the international border.

Foreign nationals are required to obtain special permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs or concerned authorities to enter such zones. The detained individual did not have the necessary authorization.

Unusual Behavior During Questioning

Officials observed that the man’s behavior was unusual. He initially answered a few questions in English but soon stopped responding. At the police station, he appeared visibly nervous and reportedly broke down.

Security agencies suspect that he may have entered the restricted area unknowingly or lost his way.

Shifted for Detailed Interrogation

The individual has been identified as Rine, according to initial reports. Bikaner Superintendent of Police Mridul Kachhawa confirmed that he has been sent to the Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) in Bikaner for further questioning.

Border Security Remains on High Alert

Amid rising concerns over smuggling activities along the India-Pakistan border, security forces remain vigilant. Authorities are continuing a detailed investigation to ensure there is no threat to national security.
