India-Pakistan Tensions Rise: Amid ongoing global tensions linked to the Iran-Israel situation, rhetoric between India and Pakistan has intensified once again. Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a sharp warning directed at India, further heating the already strained atmosphere between the two nations.

Asif’s Statement Sparks Concern

Speaking to journalists in Sialkot on Saturday, Khawaja Asif said that if India attempts any kind of military action, Pakistan will respond firmly. In a particularly strong remark, he even referred to targeting Kolkata, signaling a serious escalation in tone.

His comments are being viewed as a direct warning, suggesting that Pakistan is prepared to retaliate in a calculated and decisive manner if provoked.

Allegations Without Evidence

Asif also claimed that Pakistan has received intelligence indicating that India could be planning a “false campaign.” According to him, such a move might involve staging incidents to portray them as anti-terror operations. However, he did not provide any concrete evidence to support these allegations.

He reiterated that in case of any attack on Pakistan, the response would be immediate, well-planned, and conclusive.

This strong statement from Asif comes shortly after comments made by India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. While addressing an event in Kerala, Singh had warned that any misadventure by Pakistan would be met with an “unprecedented and decisive” response.

He referred to the April 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, stating that India had responded firmly at the time.

Reference to ‘Operation Sindoor

’Rajnath Singh highlighted that under what he called ‘Operation Sindoor,’ Indian forces targeted terror infrastructure across the border and inflicted significant damage within a short span of time. He also made it clear that India’s campaign is not entirely over.

In his words, if another such attack occurs, the response would be even stronger—one that Pakistan “will never forget.”

Rising Tensions Continue

The exchange of such strong statements from both sides comes at a time when relations between India and Pakistan remain tense. With both nations adopting firm positions, the situation continues to draw attention amid an already sensitive global backdrop.
