Mukul Roy Passes Away: Former Railway Minister of the country and senior Trinamool Congress leader Mukul Roy has passed away. He breathed his last at around 1:30 am in a Kolkata hospital. 73-year-old Mukul Roy was suffering from serious illnesses for a long time and was hospitalized for several days. Many leaders from the country and the state have expressed grief over his demise. The hospital and his son Subhrangshu Roy have confirmed his death.
Mukul Roy was called the Chanakya of West Bengal politics. He was the General Secretary of Trinamool Congress till 2015 and he made leaders of CPM and Congress members of Trinamool Congress. In 2017, he left TMC and joined Bharatiya Janata Party.
